The Worst Generation, Ranked (Every One Piece Supernova)
People search the Worst Generation more than almost any other One Piece grouping. "Strongest supernova", "worst generation ranked", "Urouge bounty", "Capone Bege power", "X Drake admiral" are weekly queries. After the bounty rankings, the Devil Fruits, the swordsmen, the Marine Admirals, and the Haki users covered the other elite tiers, this post covers the cohort that's defined the active generation of the One Piece power conversation: the Worst Generation.
What "the Worst Generation" actually means
The Eleven Supernovas (also called the Worst Generation) are the 11 rookie pirates with bounties over 100 million berries who all gathered at the Sabaody Archipelago at the same time, just before the Marineford War. The grouping is canonically significant because it includes Luffy, Zoro, and Trafalgar Law, plus eight other rival captains (and one first mate) who went on to become Yonko-class threats in the post-timeskip era.
Sengoku himself coined the "Worst Generation" label after the Sabaody arc, predicting (correctly, as it turned out) that this group would become the next major threat to the World Government. Blackbeard is sometimes included in extended "Worst Generation" discussions but isn't one of the eleven Supernovas. He had already started his own rise to Yonko status by the time the Sabaody arc happened.
Ranking these eleven by canonical post-Wano power is the most reliable way to organise them.
Tier 1: The Yonko-class Supernova

Monkey D. Luffy (Straw Hat Pirates captain)
Post-Wano bounty: 3,000,000,000 berries. Recognised as the fifth Yonko after defeating Kaido at Wano. Hito Hito no Mi Model Nika (Mythical Zoan), Conqueror's Haki master with Advanced Conqueror's mastery. The canonical leader of the Worst Generation by every metric. Gear 5 awakening has put him in the same combat tier as Shanks and Blackbeard.
Tier 2: The 3-billion bounty Supernovas
The two Supernovas who matched Luffy's exact bounty after Wano, signalling their World Government threat tier.

Trafalgar D. Water Law (Heart Pirates captain)
Post-Wano bounty: 3,000,000,000 berries (tied with Luffy and Kid). One of the architects of Kaido's defeat. Wields the Ope Ope no Mi, sometimes called the Ultimate Devil Fruit because of the Perennial Youth Surgery technique. The D in his name carries narrative weight. Defeated by Blackbeard post-Wano, which is significant context for his current power tier.

Eustass Kid (Kid Pirates captain)
Post-Wano bounty: 3,000,000,000 berries. Co-defeated Big Mom alongside Law during the Wano arc. Wields the Jiki Jiki no Mi (Magnet Paramecia), with awakened techniques extending the magnetic effect to non-metallic surroundings. Lost to Shanks shortly after Wano, which shifted the narrative around the Kid Pirates significantly but didn't reduce his pre-defeat power tier.
Tier 3: The active threats
The Supernovas still actively shaping the post-Wano world without having reached 3-billion bounty status, but each one is a credible Yonko-level threat in their respective situations.

Killer (Kid Pirates first mate)
The only Supernova who isn't a captain (he's Kid's right hand). Post-Wano his weapons evolved from spinning sickles into longer scythe-form swords with extreme cutting reach. Critical performance in the Onigashima raid, where he fought Hawkins to a victory. Currently bound to Kid's narrative trajectory.

Basil Hawkins (Hawkins Pirates captain)
Wields the Wara Wara no Mi (Straw Paramecia), letting him manipulate straw voodoo dolls that absorb damage from his own body. Strategic fighter who calculates probabilities before every move. Joined Kaido's Beast Pirates pre-Wano as a Tobi Roppo, then was defeated by Killer during Onigashima. Currently in a captured state.

Jewelry Bonney (Bonney Pirates captain)
Wields a Devil Fruit that lets her manipulate age (her own and others'). Long suspected to have World Government secrets in her backstory. Egghead arc revealed she's the daughter of Bartholomew Kuma, transforming her significance to the broader One Piece narrative. Combat tier is lower than the top Supernovas but her plot weight is enormous in the final saga.

X Drake (Drake Pirates captain)
The only Supernova who is canonically a Marine. Operates as a sleeper agent within Kaido's Beast Pirates as a Tobi Roppo, with Marine SWORD ties. Wields the Ryu Ryu no Mi Model Allosaurus (Ancient Zoan dinosaur fruit), one of the few canonical dinosaur Zoans. His post-Wano trajectory is uncertain but his strategic significance is high.
Tier 4: The wild cards
The Supernovas whose canonical role is less clear post-Wano but who remain power-tier participants in the final saga.

Capone Bege (Firetank Pirates captain)
Wields the Shiro Shiro no Mi (Castle Paramecia), turning his body into a mobile fortress with internal space for his crew. Married into the Big Mom Pirates family during Whole Cake Island arc. Survived the post-Big Mom era with his crew intact. Unique combat utility but lower raw power than the 3-billion tier.

Scratchmen Apoo (On Air Pirates captain)
Wields a sound-based Devil Fruit that converts his body sounds into projectile attacks. Joined Kaido's Beast Pirates as a Tobi Roppo, betrayed Kid pre-Wano. Killed by Kid post-Onigashima during Kid's revenge spree. Removed from the active Supernova roster.

Urouge (Fallen Monk Pirates captain)
The mysterious Supernova. Wields a Devil Fruit that lets him convert damage taken into greater physical strength. Last seen briefly during the post-timeskip events, including a confrontation with a Big Mom Pirates commander. Largely missing in action through the post-Wano era. Status canonically unconfirmed.
The eleventh Supernova: Zoro

Roronoa Zoro (Straw Hat Pirates first mate)
Technically the eleventh Supernova despite being Luffy's first mate rather than a captain. Reached Supernova status as Luffy's right hand during the Sabaody arc. Post-Wano awakening confirmed Zoro as a Conqueror's Haki user. Wields three swords (Wado Ichimonji, Enma, Sandai Kitetsu). Currently the active-generation candidate for Mihawk's successor as World's Greatest Swordsman.
Why the Worst Generation matters in canon
Sengoku's prediction at Sabaody has aged better than almost any other Marine forecast in the series. Of the eleven Supernovas:
- One became a Yonko (Luffy)
- Two have matched the Yonko-bounty tier (Law and Kid at 3 billion each)
- One participates in the active Yonko's crew (Killer with Kid)
- One contributed decisively to defeating a Yonko (Law against Big Mom; Luffy against Kaido)
- One revealed major Void Century connections (Bonney via her Kuma backstory)
- One was a Marine plant the entire time (Drake)
The Worst Generation's actual collective impact on the One Piece world significantly exceeded what Sengoku could have predicted. This is the canonical reason the term has become a fan-favourite grouping despite originally being a Marine-side label.
The collecting angle: Supernova merchandise
For collectors, Worst Generation merchandise breaks into a few clear categories.
Bandai Supernova figure releases. Each Supernova has at least one prestige figure release. Luffy, Zoro, and Law have the deepest releases (multiple poses, multiple lines). Kid has high aftermarket value because of his post-Wano scale figure being a chase piece. Killer, Hawkins, Bonney, Drake have mid-tier releases. Capone Bege, Apoo, Urouge have more limited release histories.
Bounty wanted posters. Each Supernova has a canonical bounty and (where applicable) a wanted poster. The Bandai poster collection releases include the original pre-timeskip set with all eleven Supernovas, which has become a chase piece on aftermarket. UK collectors regularly source these via Buyee or Mandarake.
Cross-cluster appeal. The Worst Generation overlaps with multiple existing One Piece collector cohorts (bounty collectors, Devil Fruit user fans, swordsman collectors, Kid Pirate specialists). This makes Worst Generation-themed merchandise some of the most cross-marketable in the entire One Piece line.
Bootleg warning. Same as the rest of One Piece. Real Bandai figures have weight matching the PVC and come in branded boxes. The scam guide covers the bootleg-spotting basics.
TL;DR
Luffy stands alone at the Yonko-tier apex of the Worst Generation. Law and Kid match his 3-billion bounty post-Wano. Killer, Hawkins, Bonney, and Drake are the active mid-tier threats. Capone Bege, Apoo (deceased), and Urouge (missing) are the wild cards. Zoro is the eleventh Supernova despite being Luffy's first mate rather than a captain. For collectors, the post-Wano Supernova figure releases and the Bandai original Worst Generation wanted poster set are the chase pieces.
If you're after specific characters, AnimeVault has the Trafalgar Law, Roronoa Zoro, and Brook wanted posters currently available from a verified UK seller. More One Piece poster and figure listings (including additional Supernova pieces) are coming through Q3 2026.
